Hitching a Sweepster Rotary Broom

Any members familiar with a rotary broom? I just acquired a "Sweepster" made by Jenkins for a Simplicity/AC. It works great, but it took me over 3 hours to hitch it to my tractor for the following reasons: 1. It was the first time I did it (the next time will still take too long). 2. The complete assembly is bulky and heavier than one man can easily handle (at least this man). 3. There is no fast way to disconnect and reconnect the hitch from the broom. 4. When raising the complete assembly from the floor, the angle of the hitch is opposite that needed to hook the notches over the axle. I couldn't hitch it up by hand, or by using a floor jack. I finally had to raise the broom with a chain hoist on a dolly and "roll" it "straight" into the tractor. I could either buy another tractor and leave the Sweepster hitched permanently (I'm not going to do that). Or, I think could redesign the hitch (but I don't really want to modify the original hitch). What do the experienced users do? Any suggestions?

Could we see some pics of it?,,,interestig for sure,Sorry I know nothing of hook-up? Maybe someone here has an owners man. for it? The more tracs one owns the better! That just might be the answer!

Don, Literture would be great. I already put a request into Jenkins but don't know what they will send. Dave, I'll take some photos of mine from different angles and post them. I remember talking to a man who had seen my Landlord and he stated that he remembered using a yellow tractor that looked almost like my Landlord with a bloom on the front. He used it on his construction site for cleaning up debris and also the concrete for his men for safty reasons, he also said it took the place of about 10 men pushing blooms and that it lasted forever untill he sold his company. He also used it at his house for cleaning snow up to 10" deep on his driveway and sidewalks and that it cleaned them down to the bare cement. Thanks, >>->happyjack<-<<

After re-examining the Sweepster (closely), I found that the broom is mounted in 2 hitch saddles. Apparently, pins had been replaced by bolts. After replacing the bolts with pins, the broom can easily be removed from the hitch. Then the hitch can be easily mounted to the tractor. I also posted some pix.

So, do you fellas want me to see if I can obtain info on this L-48 model, or its replacement, the L-4800? I'm suspecting that they may only have info available for the latter. Don
