Gary 101 Posted May 11, 2007 I have a 42" mower deck that came on my 710 Allis. It now resides on my 917 Allis (the 48" shell from the 917 is a P.O.S.). The brackets that hold the deck rollers (the 2 that attach to the shell), have broken apart. Welding is a possibility, but the right hand bracket will have to be carefully refabricated. Has anyone out there ever put the newer style bail assembly from a 48" deck, on a 42" deck. Is it even possible to do? I've still got about an acre to mow, and was hopeful to get it done by Mothers Day.
Gary 101 Posted May 12, 2007 Thanks for your time. I went to an Agco dealer this morning. They don't throw much away (God Bless them). They had the brackets I needed. Cost me only $15.00. I also got a complete 48" deck that used to be on a 918H. It's in really good shape. Also got a 42" Snow Blower, looks like it's never set outside. Both items were another $200.00. They wanted $300.00 for the deck, and $150.00 for the blower. I guess that 2 Ben Franklins did enough talking:D

John_RI 8 Posted May 12, 2007 Way to go Gary! That's the type of dilema to have and I'd say you handled it well! John
