Sundstrand Hydrolift valving

Recommended Posts

SmilinSam
I have a 7119H which has a pump that leaks like a sieve. I am going to put the hydraulic lift assembily on Ebay shortly. My Question is What components are on the pump that go hand in hand with the lift and where are they located? My intention is to list a assembly that can be trans[planted into a sundstrand without the hydr lift and would like to make sure all the parts are here in the auction listing so such can be done.

Sam, I thought I posted a response yesterday, but it isn't here, so I will post this one. You need to remove the top check valve from the tranny with the hydrolift, all internal parts and the cap (which has a bore for the spring). Tell the purchaser to remove what he currently has in the top hole and move all the parts to the side hole and replace with the ones you supply. With the hydrolift there is a much stiffer spring in the top relief valve. The hydrolift requires more pressure than the tranny. If the lift does not have enough lifting force, then the person will need to buy a shim kit, and shim the spring in the top check valve to increase the hydrualic pressure. Maynard's picture shows hookup of the gage for checking this pressure. The pressure should not be more than 800 psi, or there is danger of breaking the housing of the charge pump. To put this in other words, the charge relief valve is in the top hole without a hydrolift. The charge relief valve components must be removed from the top hole and installed in the side hole for a hydrolift, then the implement relief valve must be installed in the top hole. Only difference between the two is the spring and the shims.
