SmilinSam 3,826 Posted May 20, 2007 quote:Originally posted by FastPaul Looks like It's missing a taipipe. Is it a 6 banger ?? Yep, its a 210 hp V6 mated to a 5 speed automatic. When I ordered up the car I wanted a 6 so I could afford the gas to drive it every day and I wanted a auto. I dont care to shift gears anymore. It wasnt too many years ago that the V-8's in the GT's only put out 225 HP, so this 6 has all the power I'll ever need. I also got the basic interior as not only a base car was more affordable, a Mustang with the basic Black dash is kind of hard to find. Most all, if not all, the Mustangs on the lots around here have the upgrade kit with either the brushed aluminum or Carbon trim panels. I added the honeycomb panel between the tail lights, the fender emblems, hood and trunk lid decals and the aluminum louvers. Car reminds me alot of the 68 Mustang I had about 20 years ago. FastPaul 0 Posted May 21, 2007 Very nice ,That expains it , I saw the hood decal and thought it must be a V-8 .Ya gas at 3 a gal !!!
gtwygreg 0 Posted May 25, 2007 I'm not a Ford guy either, but sweet! I agree on the V6 choice, what good is a car like that if you can't afford to put gas in it.
goatfarmer 817 Posted May 26, 2007 Nice ride, Sam! My wife's looking at new 'Stang's, but she may end up buying an 06 or an 05.
PatrickE 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Really nice ride you got there, I like the way you optioned it. So is this the first mid-lifer 2 door sporty job too?
Willy 2 Posted May 26, 2007 Nice looking ride. Will it pull a plow??:D
Tacey 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Nice looking ride, SmilinSam! I have an '02 F-150 with a V-6 and automatic transmission combo. Runs well, with plenty of power. And I actually use my truck like a truck. I've had better than a ton of crushed limestone in the bed, and she never broke a sweat. And, when I stay out of the throttle, I ve measured better than 18mpg average. Not bad for a heavy truck. Enjoy the new car, and good luck. Tacey

I had to get the 07 if I wanted the orange paint (which I did). Cant get yellow or green this year though. The 07 is also the first year for the flat spoiler like pictured above which is specific to the V6 cars. 05 and 06 V6 cars had the same pedastal spoiler like on the GT's. I thought about buying the pedastal type and puting it on in place of this one, but I think this looks pretty good. You can buy lots of take off parts on Ebay from shops installing aftermarket customizing body kits. Factory spoilers, hoods, bumper panels etc all at reasonable prices. Lots of factory wheels with new tires on Ebay as well. Amazing. On my daily trips to town to work, 6 miles one way, made twice a day( I go home for lunch) I'm getting 23-24 mpg with the occasional putting my foot into it:p. Havnt done any real long distance highway drivig to see where the mpg ends up at. Everyone says around 28-30 though. As to mid life crisis, not really. Last new Mustang I had was a 1988. Had that wen I got married, then I got into the truck thing as my wife was into trucks. I'm just rectifying that mistake of going from cars to trucks and getting back to cars. True I had the 86 Escort, but my wife kept telling me I looked like an old man in that. Reminded here of her dad too much as he drove one . We couldnt have that now could we?:D Willy, puting a plow on this would be like putting a trailer hitch on it and pulling a garden tractor. Like Larry the Cable Guy would say, "it just aint right!";)
