RipRat 0 Posted May 23, 2007 I wanted to share this because I'm so impressed with this paint stripper. It's called Tal-Strip by Bondo (it even comes in an aerosol can) I first used it when I was rebuilding the engine for my tractor restoration project and it not only cut through the grease on the block, but it dissolved the burnt on dirt, grime, and paint - and didn't hurt the aluminium block! Last week I started on the white pieces for the tractor (wheels, weights, grill, and the console) I purchased a gallon of this paint stripper from Advanced Auto for about $25 and used only a little bit. It stripped the paint on the wheels and the paint came off with just a soft rub of steel wool. The best part is it seemed to soften the rust on the wheels and made it easy to steel wool them smooth. The paint stripper absorbs into the loose paint and flakes off like saw dust - no gooey clean-up.... and any clean up you do need to do you can do with just water because it's water-soluble... cool huh??? The next step was the Grill, and then Prime and Paint... I found a perfect color match for the almond (Rustoleum industrial Almond) And next was prime and paint on the weights.... I am planning to strip the console this weekend, and prime and paint - then off to the orange parts...
