I found a 7790 Number 1690-890-00-1742 with 920 hours for $2200.00. also has tiller, snow blade, grader blade and sickle bar with it. The tractor looks good, no dents but oil changes were recorded on inside of hood up to 2000. After that tractor was not used much? and no oil changes were recorded after that. The dealer sells cub cadet. Is this to much money to spend on a 7790, are parts hard to find for the diesels? I started the motor and it needed to crank some to fire. Did not smoke much after it was running but I do not know anything about how this motor should run. Can someone help me out? Thank You Stan

That sounds like a lot of money to me, but after thinking about it a bit, if it has the _correct_ sickle bar with the planetary gearsset ($500-600 if you can find one?), and a grader blade, and it seems to run ok, that's not too bad! Parts are harder to find than say a Kohler, but they are not impossible to find. Sandy Lake or Lombardini dealers come to mind: Nevermind, did anyone notice this, Kohler just bought Lombardini a few weeks ago?! http://www.automotive.com/features/90/auto-news/28466/index.html Maybe parts will just be Kohler dealer away, but I will believe that when I see it. With those attachments, if it is in good running condition, that's a fair price by New England standards. They'll go for $1500 here with just a mower deck, which is the easiest attachment to find...
