dan762 1 Posted May 27, 2007 I just aquired a allis 917 from brother-in-law it has run good the last 3 years he had it. It was left outstide all winter, and it does nothing when you turn the key. I put a new key switch, and solenoid in it yesterday and still nothing, If I jump the solenoid it will turn over fine, but doesn't get any fire. I noticed a broken terminal on a little black box, under the neutral safty switch. The box says 12V 20amp I think. Is this why it won't do anything when I turn the key, and will this make it not fire when I jump it. Are these little "boxes" hard to find. Any help would be great. DMedal 1 Posted May 27, 2007 Danny, That's a 20A circuit breaker which protects all the tractor wiring. Your local auto parts store should have a replacement, it is a real common part.
Ronald Hribar 126 Posted May 27, 2007 There is a safety circuit that interlocks with starter. The hydro lever, the seat and the pto lever are all on this circuit. Many time one or more of these are bypassed, sometimes the bypass fails also.
