Powermax PTO Driveline for a Tiller

Recommended Posts

I just priced out a complete replacement pto shaft for my tiller using mostly Neapco parts and www.drive-line.com. Here are the part numbers for those of you interested: Ujoints Neapco #1-1475 Bar Yoke #16-6129 Rectangular shafting (.750 X .875) #73-0750 Rectangular Tube (1.00 X 1.125 OD) #70-1001 Rectangular Tube Yoke #16-6131 15 spline male tractor yoke Weasler #106-0615 Shield #69-0648 Shield bearings #56-1600 I think that these are the correct parts but have to check the connection to the tiller. The total just for parts came to $275. UGH! Plan B is to try and salvage my existing PTO driveline. It is in rough shape. The male tractor yoke is very rusted and difficult to fit into the tractor (This can be replaced and rewelded if necessary). The Shield is rusted tight and I'm in the process of heating, tapping and PB Blasting but it's not budging. Anybody have any tips on getting it apart? Plan C is to have Bill at Sandy Lake put one together for me. He's putting together a quote for me as I write this. Frustrating having overhauled the tiller itself but not being able to use it because the shaft is inoperable. edited to add shield part numbers.
