laney64 0 Posted May 30, 2007 I have a B-10 that was running and now it won't run. I have replaced the condensor and I regapped the points and made sure it is getting spark but it won't start now.

laney64 0 Posted May 30, 2007 yes it is getting gas. spark, and the nine yards.
DMedal 1 Posted May 30, 2007 ok, Scott. If it really had the whole 9 yards it would be running. So let's look at what looks like it is there and isn't. 1) you have compression, right? (the other side of the requirements here) It doesn't turn over LOTS easier all of a sudden? sudden loss of compression would be sad. 2) what happens if you put a little gas in the cylinder? If it fires you've got a mixture problem I'm thinking. 3) if it DOESN'T fire that way your spark isn't happening at the right time or in sufficient power. It is possible to have a visible spark but not enough to fire your plug properly in service. (Plug looks ok, yes?) 4) (really should be #1) what happened right BEFORE it stopped running? Good luck
Mike 0 Posted May 31, 2007 I just had one that had a piece of carbon holding open the exhaust valve, just enough to not run.............
Kyle Pittsley 0 Posted May 31, 2007 I find re-adjusting the points slightly closer helps and also checking the spark plug gap (using a feeler Gauge).
gtwygreg 0 Posted June 1, 2007 I had the same problem.... It was a weak spark that would work intermittently, or not at at all. I'm trying an external coil setup and I'll post the results.
