Bret4207 0 Posted June 4, 2007 I had a lot of problems finding the "right" parts for my BGB. To re-cap, the machine was given to me in trade for a trolling motor (HA!) and the BGB was bad. But sine it runs like a top and came with the mower deck, front plow, tiller, snowblower, moldboard plow, cultivators, and a disc I figured it was worth fixing. (Did I mention the trolling motor was broken? I repeat, HA!) Sometime in the past a neanderthal had "repaired" the BGB by WELDING the driven gear to it'd shaft. Naturally this mechanical genius ruined the bearing and the driven gear shaft. Not only that, but someone else had replaced the original BGB with one from a much newer and larger machine, according to Brenda at Samdy Lake. After going through several repetitions of the "order it, mail it back" routine I finally sent the BGB and all my new and used parts to Brenda. Turn around could have been a bit quicker, but I understand it their busy season. Anyways, now I have all the right parts and am actually going to be smart enough to save the invoice with the part numbers! 47 freakin' years old and I'm finally catching on. The old girl may be moving this weekend. That only took 14 months, thats pretty good for me!
Bret4207 0 Posted June 4, 2007 Had to put the kids to bed. I wanted to add that prior to tearing it apart the charging system wasn't working. With the electric lift it's kind of needed. Where do I start looking on that? Also, the thing was in parts when I got it. I have the Simplicity 3410 Landlord manual, but can't find the AC312 manual anywhere. Are they pretty much the same as far as putting it back together?
