Al 6 Posted June 6, 2007 Hi, Got up at 5 and spent all day at a demo evaluation for a 7 unit bid proposal. We took 2 Legacy XLs, one diesel with a 60 inch deck and 1 27 gas with a sweeper and a snowblower. We also took a 28-60 Grasshopper diesel and a 31 Grasshopper diesel with a Sweepster and a 28 diesel with a 4 foot snowblower. There were also X Marks, Kubotas, Toro Groundsmaster, Hustler, Ferris and John Deere The Maintenance Engineers from 7 school buildings were brought together to drive all of the equipment and rate it. The order will be for diesel powered units. There are 11 trade in units. 6 like small Snappers, JD 165, Bolens 14 something gear, an Old Huskee with no deck and bad engine etc. Also are 4 Kubota B1900H diesel all wheel steer tractors and 60" decks and a 12 year old Jacobson 16 or 17 foot cut finish flail mower. It looks like a truck frame with rear wheel steer and a hydraulic drive 6 foot flail unit in the front center and a "batwing" one on each side behind the front wheels. Has about a 40 hp diesel. If we should be successful this should be an interesting unit to sell. Don't all get drool running down your lips wanting to mow a 16 foot swath. Now it is number crunching time and the hard part, waiting to see how we fare. Al Eden

andrewk 0 Posted June 7, 2007 Good luck with that bid! If you get all those Kubotas... The dealer across the street from us might be interested in them, if they are in decent shape- No promises of course, but I would hook you guys up if they are interested, and the deal comes through- Hopefully they spring for your stuff... the grasshopper can (well at least in my opinion) be a tough sell, but if they tried it, I know they liked it- Anyway- I was in town recently, but forgot your wife's jacket at my apartment- I'll be by soon- Again- good luck with that bid- I hope you get it! quantico 2 Posted June 8, 2007 Good luck with the sale.... I would think that they might like to replace the kubotas with new ones... I don't know much about them, but everyone seems to like them.. diesel is an awesome choice for any application... maybe I will play with one some day after my sunstar bug is satisfied... I will likely call you and chat on m18S rebuild questions... scott
