dlcentral 1 Posted January 25, 2001 Hard starting could be many things but probably in this case it is low compression. You could put chrome rings in the motor but if the cyl is out of round and tapered from wear, boring to an oversize is the only right way to end oil consumption. Proper point gap is critical to proper ignition timing.Yes to re-polarizing flywheel for magnetron.
TOMT 0 Posted January 25, 2001 I HAVE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS THAT I WOULD APPRECIATE ANSWERS/SUGGESTIONS ,ETC TO RSOLVE; OILY DEPOSITS IN COMBUSTION CHAMBER. DO THE CHROME RINGS WORK?? HARD STARTING - HOW FAST SHOULD THE STARTER TURN THE ENGINE? IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO SEE IF GENERATOR IS RECHARGING BATTERY?? LEAKING FROM BOTTOM OF CARBURETOR(LOOKS OILY) HOW CRITCAL IS POINT GAP?/ WHATS INVOLVED TO CHANGE TO AN ELECTRONIS IGNITION?? DOES FLYWHEEL NEED TO BE REPOLARIZED?? ADVISE ANY AVICE YOU MAY HAVE.
