skunkhome 0 Posted June 10, 2007 I would appear that I am going to have to repair or replace the clutch plate/cone #174862 on the center pto on my tractor. The lining is burnt up. Is this something that can be relined or can I replace?

skunkhome 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Thank you both for the info. I guess you get tired of addressing the same ole questions over and over again. I did a search for "PTO clutch", but did not find the link you referenced, Kent. The reference to using leather as a liner intrigues me. I have seen clutches lined with leather before but nothing "high speed" like the center PTO. I was concerned that the clutch plate was going to be an issue, but it looks like it is no big deal. I think from my conversations with the former owner he had the bushing behind the sheave go bad which may have lead to the the failure of the clutch lining.
