Chris727 1,849 Posted June 22, 2007 Hi. I have been working on a B110 with a 10hp 243431 Briggs. I checked the engine compression at 105 psi, the spark is very strong (accidentally shocked myself:O), points are gapped correctly at 20 thousandths and when I spray a little carb cleaner in the cylinder it will still not fire. The last time it ran it backfired so maybe a flywheel key sheared but even with a sheared key shouldn't it still fire a little? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Jac 0 Posted June 23, 2007 The key could be damaged, effecting the timing. Some of the older Briggs need a bit of coaxing. Al Eden posted a few weeks ago about this. While cranking, manually hold the throttle closed and see if it will start. That solved my problem. Jack
LPH-5 0 Posted June 23, 2007 my B110 243341 backfired once after a rebuild and it was out of timing a little and sheared the alum key right off, So had to take apart, Good Luck Floyd..
