chrisdm8 0 Posted June 23, 2007 Hello, Well, we got a simpicity 7010 for my wife and she was using is all day. We went to move it this evening, I put it into 2nd and let out the brake and the engine started to bog down. I let up and tried to shift into 1st but it wouldn't go up into 1st or 3rd (wouldn't go past half way between gears). Confused, I put it into neutral and let out the brake so I could inspect things... but it lurched forward. So I shut it down. I checked and when it's in 2nd or Reverse the transmission is locked. When it's in neutral it's in some forward gear. And I couldn't get it up into 1st or 3rd at all. Anyone had this problem? Is it possible for something to get misaligned with the shifter? Thanks in advance!

Roy 0 Posted June 23, 2007 Sounds like its time for the "bent screwdriver" trick. Look at this link: "http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/portal_External.asp?LinkID=153&LinkName=Manual%20Transmission%20Stuck%20In%20or%20Between%20Gears&CatID=18&CatTitle=Transmissions&URL=http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=11763&" Found it in, "Technical Tips & Articles, Got the $50 tractor home". Good luck,
chrisdm8 0 Posted June 23, 2007 Fixed! Thanks. Turns out a straight screwdriver works in a pinch if you're lucky :p And put some new belts on while I was at it.
