Fiber disk alternative?

This is what I found in a parts tractor I started taking apart. A disc made out of plastic.


Looks to have been cut out with a circle saw cutter.


Is about 3/16th inch thick.


It must have worked, not sure how long it has been in there.

Well I got you beat on that one. I was swapping a engine for a friend of Rob-B's and found that they used two cut off disks. :O This was on a 700 so the rubber disk must have came apart. Well as shade tree as it is, it dose work!:D

A SHEET OF 1/4" plywood will handle a surprising amount of torque I will often line the outside of a door jamb with 1/4" ply wood to make it pretty much "kick in" proof, and actually there isn't a great amount of torque in front of the transmission anyway. If the tractor were designed with the transmission inline with the engine and the plywood were on the output shaft of the transmission it wouldn't last past the first popped clutch.
