Ragged_ol_64 0 Posted July 12, 2007 Glad I found this forum. I just picked up a 64? Land lord 990314 with a 23D briggs for 75 bux. Runs ok and have a bunch of stuff coming or it. I just pulled out the spark plug and the threads are stripped from the PO using the wrong (too short)plug. Thanks for having me. Josh Oh...what plug is recommended for the briggs 9 hp 23D motor? Id like to get one tomorrow.
johnmonkey 4 Posted July 12, 2007 Welcome, you will want to become a member, so you can post pictures (we love pictures). Look around for a while and you will see that 10.00 is nothing compared to the wealth of information found here. I will have to look for the spark plug#. PetePuller 0 Posted July 12, 2007 J-8, heli-coil or better yet replace the head.
IronPony 3 Posted July 12, 2007 Welcome to the site! We love to have new folks here! Pete has the right idea. A heli-coil will work, I have one in my Kohler 16hp. Just so you know, there is the site and there is the Club. You can do a lot and get help just here on the site. But, club dues are only $10 a year and will be the best $10 you ever spent. John_RI 3 Posted July 13, 2007 Hi Josh & welcome to the site! The correct plug for the 23D is a Champion J-8 or equivalent with a 0.025" gap. Good luck, John
