MPH 12 Posted July 29, 2007 Seeings how my south clover field did not come back this year and I have a friends bee hive on place and the new clover won't bloom much til the end of Aug I decided to mow around the dutch clover patches in the lawn 3 weeks ago. Kinda like the looks of it and bees seem to be loving it as there is 3-4 of them buzzing little suckers per sq foot. Only patch of intended clover field that mostly came back, think because it was planted last year and the big field the year before. Got the sickle mower mounted and working yesterday to deal with mowing my 'lawn' when the time comes, hoping if I mow it off a couple weeks before freeze-up it'll all survive. PGL 417 Posted July 29, 2007 A lot of bees didn't survive last winter, so anything you can do to help preserve the stock is great. I like the natural look too.
Willy 2 Posted July 29, 2007 Marty Just remember a bee can fly faster than a tractor. The clover look looks nice,I've been killing mine off so the creeping Charlie, water grass and numerous other weed can have a Chance to grow.:D
