Homemade Tree Sheer for Marty (MPH)

Now byegolly, looks like that could come in handy in my ongoing land clearing projects Kris. Hows he keep the trees from falling on the tractor? My problem when I hook to the small stuff and pull it outta the ground, learned to cut it off at about 5 foot first. Thanks for sharing the idea with me.

The "real shears" used in logging (called fellers or feller-bunchers) have a set of hydraulically-operated "arms" mounted up above that grab the tree trunk, then you shear it off. You can even use them to carry the tree a short distance. But, these are mounted on big log skidders, skidsteers or equipment that's big enough and heavy enough to hold the tree up... Ditto! Looks like it could use a bumper about 2 ft above the blade to push the tree away as you cut.
