Hi all fellow members, Jack Lindstrom here - happyjack and back in the beginning of our club I went as Jackl. I would like this 3000th message for all fellow members to say something about them selves or just anything you would care to talk about as long as its not tractors "ok" lets get to know one another just alittle better. Yes I know that I am probably making a big deal out of this but hey we all have shared alot of information and time together on our clubs board helping one another. A little about myself: I am 52 years of age and a retired mechanic from General Motors. I did some other lines of work but lets not go there ha. I have been married 32 years now and won't change that for anything. I changed my name from jackl to happyjack because this site always "well" almost always made me happy so it was simple enough with all the time I spent here and I also use happyjack or happyjackl on the internet. And by the way I do live in Michigan north of Detroit. I have 2 wonderfull kids well adults now and 2 grandest kids that turned my life around. Ok I started this thing so someone else please take over "ok". If others feel that this is a waste of time please just post it and I will delete my message and we can move on with bussiness as usuall with no feelings hurt what so ever. But in all the hunting on these past pages there's no mention about any of us but I could be wrong. Yes there is a profile page but just maybe this will be more fun. Hey maybe thats why there's not a message 1000 or 2000 ha ha :) I just wonder if I tried something like this back then opps. Thanks to all, >>->happyjack<-<<

Jack, You remind me of the "Toastmaster General" (George Jessel). I guess that's showing my age (59). Happily married 38 years to same woman, Judy (actually 39 if you don't count the "bad days" that add up over time). Three grown daughters - 6 grandchildren (4 boys). Name is spelled NIEWENDER, not like Kent spells it. American pronunciation is Knee-When-Der (not new-when-der, my father was German not Dutch). People who know me call me different names, I chose Dutch as a nickname here because Kent does not permit profanity. Friends call me Herb. Whole family lives in southern New Jersey, just west of Atlantic City (I've visited every casino - once). What's the difference between being retired and unemployed? If only 10% of the members post, this thread will take 30 minutes to load. What did Kent say about an archive?

Hi, Nothing trickey with my nick name. I am 50, married for 21, two young kids(10 and 7), and I am an Engineer for a very large food company. We live in NW Wisconsin and we have 7 tractors. My son loves tractors and we pull ACs for a summer hobby. Tinkering with these tractors AND THIS WEB SITE is very therapeutic. Thanks everyone. Mike S.

Interesting topic. As for me, I have no nickname as I was not smart enough to pick one when registering right after this discussion group was started after taking it off Yahoo. I'm a married father of 3 young kids (ages 6,4 and almost 2), and an Electrical Engineer (I work mostly with power distribution, lighting and fire alarms). As for hobbies, I spend most of my summer mowing 4 1/2 acres with my 3416H and 916H, the fall I spend hunting and the winter tanning animal skins and blowing snow here in east-central Indiana. I never knew there were this many great folks in the world, let alone interested in Sim/AC tractors. Brent Baumer

Very interesting to read the profiles of each member here... such a vast array of backgrounds with a common interest. As for me, I'm an environmental engineer, 30 years old, married for just about 3 years now, presently have my first child "on the way", and I'm from Massachusetts. Before I got into old tractors, I spent my time restoring classic cars. Two projects of note were a '55 Chevy Belair (my brother's "toy")and a '72 Corvette (my "toy"). I just recently finished construction of a garage to work on and store the "toys" in. Great site, thanks for the help... Mike Decoteau (as in Dakota like the state)

I'm 15 and just got my lawnmower (B-207E) running after seizing ther engine up, that was quiet an expierience. and expensive. I found this just just after I purchased the lawnmower in the summer of 1999 and have been using the information ever since.

Thanks happyjack, as usual you manage to keep this discussion interesting. I found this club about 2 years ago to the day. It's quite a place with a lot of special people. I got my first simplicity about 3 years before I found the site, and I'm sure if it were not for the internet and Kent I'd be convinced that I was the only Simplicity owner East of the Mississippi! Thanks Kent ! I'm 45 and have been married for almost 16 years (seems like only yesterday). I have 3 wonderful children ages 12, 10 & 8, in fact they bought me a simplicity 725 for my last birthday - unfortunately my wife doesn't share their joy of tractors. We live in Rhode Island and just had a typical snow storm: 4 to 6 inches of snow followed by an inch or so of rain - - pretty lousy stuff but the Landlord with a plow handles it just fine. I'm a mechanical engineer and work for Uncle Sam. A previous hobby was ham radio - it's connection with the tractors is the vintage of the radio equipment was about the same that of the tractors - ‘50's ‘60's, I like old stuff. Thanks to all for making this site what it is. John(RI)[A href='http://images.honesty.com/imagedata/1/4/4/9266144.jpg']http://images.honesty.com/imagedata/1/4/4/9266144.jpg[/a]

Ok, I'll bite! While I haven't been around this site anywheres near as long as happyjack, I feel that it's a good place with a lot of friendly and knowledgable people. It's always nice to find a good website about something you like. :) I'm 32, single, and I live in Michigan also, about 65 miles west of Detroit. I'm employed full time as a midnight shift boiler operator for a small firm in Ann Arbor. I have a great interest in many things. I still live at home, and my parents have five wooded acres on which I play with my tractors and stuff. :) Well that's it from me for now. I look forward to meeting some of you folks in person at the rhinelander picnic this summer! Don

Hello all! My name is Mike and I live in West Bend, WI which is minutes west of the Simplicity factory. I am 31 and married for 9 years to my beautiful wife, Cindy. We have two children, Dylan(7) and Kayden(3). I currently work at a large insurance company in the city as a building engineer. I bought a 2010 about 5 years ago at an auction and currently in the process of restoring a Wonderboy 575. I also collect and restore Wheel Horse garden tractors. This hobby allows me the time to show my son the ability to fix and repair problems that we encounter with these vintage machines. These skills seem to be lacking with a majority of the new generation kids. However, it is encouraging to hear from several younger adults on this site that have taken up this hobby. Keep up the good work! Mike_AK7 (a big fan of the late Alan Kulwicki - "Go Underbird")

Is it my turn? Thanks, Jack for getting this started. I'm soon to be 49, happily married to a very tolerant lady for 10 years, with a total of 5 kids (yours, mine & ours, since the Missus and I had both been married before) ranging from 8 to 27. One daughter, the oldest, who blessed me with a grandson that will soon be three. The rest are boys: 8, 14, 18, and 23. Only the two youngest are still at home. I have two jobs in addition to a hobby or two. After 15+ years of active duty Air Force, I'll be finishing up my career late next year in the Air Force Reserve. After 27 years total, getting two degrees, and climbing the ranks from airman basic to Lieutenant Colonel, I'm tired. Then there's the real job -- where I work for a big contractor/systems integrator, running a team that designs computer-based and web-based training programs. My wife, Chris, is also an Air Force Reserve officer who followed a similar path, only she was aircraft maintenance tech > flight engineer > maintenance officer while my work was always personnel, training and admin kinds of things. This allows her to be Super Mom -- especially important since I'm required to travel quite a bit at times.... I got into all this purely by accident. I was looking originally for a walking tractor (Simplicity, Ariens, Gravely, etc.) to handle both the snow removal and mowing on my lot that's less than an acre. Once I saw how well these oldies worked, and I learned that Allis-Chalmers parts were still available, I was hooked... and here we are!

Hi there! It's great to hear from everyone! I'm 27 and a special education teacher in Celina, Ohio. I've been married for 4 1/2 years to my beautiful wife, Jodi. She just gave birth to our second child, a son named Parker, on Wednesday night. He is welcomed home by our 2 1/2 year old daughter, Blake. My grandfather was an AC dealer for several years, hence my love for AC and simplicity tractors, large and small. I own a Simplicity 7018H, an AC WD, and an AC CA.

What a great idea to have folks write in! My name is Dave, I'm 46 years old, and I'm a teacher at Warsaw High School in Warsaw, IL. I learned about the site from a great guy who offered to help me with my 720 Allis with the Onan engine. I had never heard of them before owning one, and they are a particular breed! It really knocks out my yard in great fashion. I also have a 912H. My grandfather was an Allis Chalmers dealer for many years, and my love for Persian Orange was inevitable. Playing with the tractors is a great way to unwind after school, and I'm glad to see so many young people on this site! They could sure do a lot worse than tinkering with these classic tractors! Keep up the great work, and my heartfelt thanks to those of you who make this so successful. I enjoy visting every single day!

Hi, OK I'm in North East IL, near the WI border. Have a small yard (1/2 acre) but needed to do some tilling. Traded a pinball machine (my other hobby) for a 700 with tiller, plow, blade, dual wheels, deck. Then got a 725 with deck and blower so now use the 700 for parts. Wife of 31 years is a good sport but sometimes thinks I should collect something smaller than garden tractors and pinball machines. Hmmmm, now if I can just think of a way to combine the two. Best to all ...Ken

My name is Greg, and I've been a club member since around December 1998, right after I bought my current house, which needed a much more durable mower than the small wheel horse sled that came with it. Hence, the ultimate discovery of Simplicity. I am 37, have been married to my (somewhat tractor tolerant) wife since June of 1997, and we have a honeymoon child, Olivia (born March, 1998 if you don't want to do the math). Olivia was born with a significant orthopedic malady, and she has endured major orthopedic reconstructive surgery to both femurs. We feel lucky to live in Eastern Massachusetts, with access to a great medical system. We have one more surgery to go, and hope that's the end of that, and she should be orthopedically normal. Then I'll feel comfortable building her as big of a wooden swing set/jungle gym as I can afford. (A simplicity with tiller will of course carry out the ground breaking by carving out the earth for the sand box). My other current hobby is wood working. I have a 30' X 32' barn, and have converted the entire second floor to a wood working shop. Previous times in my life, I have been heavily involved in R/C planes, and still own some scale models: DeHaviland Pussmoth, Ultimate Bi-Plane. and some not so scale models; Telemaster, Sig Kadet Sr., and a Gremlin. I'm looking forward to resuming my R/C model hobby, but it's so time consuming, not much else can be going on in life.

Hi all. After doing the math I figured myself at 43. The "DoubleT" came from Tundra Trucker as I hauled freight to the arctic coast oil fields for many years. The route was often described as hours and hours of sheer boredom interupted by moments of sheer terror. Now I just work in summer driving truck in dirt work, and trying to get back to my first love of equipment operating. Have learned lots of other trades along the way of becoming and getting away from being a truck driver, including auto mechanic, bar tender, painter, carpenter, and even a jailer. Married again after 16 years of being single to the mother of my 9 year old son, and 5 year old daughter. Have an eighteen year old son by first wife, but they both sorta disappeared when he was 1. The other two have been such great kids so far I'm starting to get nervous. No one has kids this good stay that way :) I got into the AC scene from needing something manueverable to move my other hobby around the yard, which that hobby includes 12 watercooled and 5 aircooled Volkswagens so far. I wound up getting an old Eileson Airforce Base surplus Big Ten from a guy that owed me money, then drove Koidern River, Yukon for a B112 I'd seen for parts that also turned out to be Eileson surplus. Couldn't bare to part either out, but haven't got either operational yet. No time with a "fixerupper" house, and "fixerupper" transportation, and "fixerupper" everything. And of course there is the relatives that bring me their "fixerup" stuff too. Beginning to figure out that just because I know how to "fixerup", and it's cheap, it doesn't mean I will ever find time. It appears I'm still the farthest north member between North Pole, and Fairbanks, Alaska. Though there is another member I haven't met yet about a mile or so south. He would be the farthest north member who actually uses his tractor :) Even if I don't find time to fix mine up, I still find time now and then to come in here and read about what a good machine they are, from even better people.

My name is Ron, and I found this site almost two years ago, when I needed some help with my 94 Regent. My dad has had a Simplicity since he was a kid, so I guess I was bound to follow. I have been married for almost 12 years. I have two girls, ages 10 & 8 and a tractor crazy 4 year old son. My paying job is being an operator at a nuclear power plant in Ohio. My other job/hobby is being a volunteer firefighter. When people ask why I like the fire department, I say:"Because I couldn't afford to buy all these big toys." I don't want to be a full time truck driver, but it sure is fun to drive a 68,000 pound fire truck through our small town. I also beleive everyone should give something to their community, whether it is coaching ball teams, helping the elderly, reading to kids, whatever. Find your niche, and do it.

HI, I'm Al, I live in Anamosa Iowa, a small town about 25 miles North of Cedar Rapids. I am 62 yewars old and a Dealer and have been for about 20 years. For 38 years worked as an electronics technician at Rockewell Collins. Previous to the dealership, I have done a number to things part time, body shop, speed shop, engine rebuild and transmission shop, My last 15 years there, I worked there days and at the shop nights and weekends and hired people to run the shop days. Have been "retired" for 5 years to about a 60 hour week at the shop. I am married 25 years just before Christmas to A VERY tolerant lady named Judy. When we married we started with a 12, 13, 14 and 15 year old. Hers were the oldest and youngest and mine in the middle, a boy and girl from each. She survived that and the stress and demands of the business, so I owe her a lot. I have a 3212H I bought new in 1970 when I also commercial mowed, it looks as if it was in Viet Nam., about 10 or 15 old walk behinds, and some attachments. Some Cushman scooters and trucks, All of this stuff I want to resore, but have no time. Trying to keep 7 employees busy, and paid gets pretty demanding, along with all of the time we are spending trying to get the Re-power Company off the ground. I notice some pin ball interests here. I have an old Gottlieb machine and need some new rubbers etc for it. Are they still available? Is it saleable? Nuff said. Thanks to all of you, Thanks to Kent, I love this club and it is about the only time I spend on the net. Al

Thanks Jack, I appreciate your dedication to providing help for all in need. I am 35 years old, married six years, have a one month old boy and am a Rangeland Management Specialist with the United States Forest Service. I have two Landlords (1963 and 1965 with hydraulic lift) and several implements. I purchased my first Landlord two years ago when I moved back to Missouri after five years in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. These are wonderful tractors, not only for the great utility and depenable durability they offer, but also because so many of us get countless hours of enjoyment with them. In my opinion this is the best site on the internet. "Keeping it Simple, Keeping it Running, and Keeping it" Thanks
