mdmre 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Farmers around here used to use them to keep the weeds down and to loosen up the top soil when the corn or beans are still fairly short, early in the growing season. When the crops get very tall, it is not possible to pull this thru the field without destroying the plants. You do need to move along at a pretty good pace when using a rotary hoe. If you stop for the day in the middle of a field, you can definitely tell where you left off the next morning. By breaking up the top layer of soil, the plants will shoot up sometimes 6 inches of new growth by the next day.
wilm169 1 Posted August 21, 2007 If you can find one section of one put the hitch on the back side and pull it backwards with some weight on it and then it is a spiker or lawn aireator.:D:D:D
