AC 712 Hydro Trans

Does anyone know how I can check the hydro trans before i put the tractor back together the guy I bought it from said he thought it worked Famous last words right

Put a drill or air wrench and a socket on the hydro pump pulley and spin it, I'm guessing you have a vickers so move the lever for forward and reverse going slow to fast and slow again in forward and reverse, do this several times and check the pintle shaft ( the forward reverse lever is mounted to it in front ) look for leakage there and at the hoses. You should also try holding the differential near the large hub to see if the other axle turns when a load is put on it. Do this with it up on 3 solid jack stands and a come-a-long hung from the header or joist at the front of the BGB.

The 712 is a Sundstrand hydro, but the same procedures should work...
