I finally got a 4040 powermax. These things are rare in my area and I couldn't be too picky. Probably paid too much, $1600 but I don't care, I got one. It needs some carb work, but other than that it is in good shape. It came with a 60" deck that is still in my truck. Also came with manual's, filters, belts and some front tires.

Sweet! That is my favorite 'body style'. It is not too much if you are happy. Congrats!

That is a great looking machine. Looks to have been well cared for, 60" deck, 3-point, is that a rear PTO I see. Pretty good deal I'd say.

I was always primarily a Massey guy, but I now have the 416 Allis & other makes, so I'm just a "tractor guy" now I suppose. BUT one thing's for sure....I'd love to have a Powermax!!!! Those things have always caught my eye! Extremely rare in Ky or my area of it at least. If you're satisfied, then the price was right! That's always how I look at it. That's one NICE tractor! :D

It's wierd how scarce these are around here (CT). Some people seem to find them easy, but I have been around simp's my whole life and this is the first one I have seen in person. BTW, those pictures of your Massey convince me to cross brands some day.

Great looking, apparently well cared for tractor. I'm sure it will serve you well.

I live not far in MA and I have never seen a 4040 in person. The closest I have seen evidence of one existing in the state was one I saw in the background of a picture of a Bolens for sale on craigslist (should have emailed and asked about it). I think think the tractor is a super "keeper" and the price is excellent, especially if it didn't cost a lot to get it home. The cost of time, fuel and lodging to pick one up at any great distance adds up real fast.

there is one on craigslist here in Maine, but they are asking $4700. comes with a loader, 48" tiller, rear weight frame, grader blade, aerator, and hay forks. Been listed for quite some time, i might add.
