PhanDad Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 This re-power engine is in a tractor I recently acquired: I can't find any code info stamped on the upper tin near the head; I've always found the info in that location. There appears to be the remains of a sticker behind the carb, but nothing readable. Where else should I look for the manufacturing info? Does anyone know the model series for this engine? Thanks.
gregc Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I don't have a 15 hp, but the numbers could be stamped into the flywheel shroud on the carb side just above the level of the governor arm or on the opposite side just under the level where the starter generator bracket mounts to the engine. These are the other places that I have seen them. Model series should probably be 325400.
Roy Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Look down on the curved part of the tin where it goes around the flywheel. Forget which side but the numbers are there on some of my engines.
tec2484 Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Raised fins on a 15hp??? I thought they were only on 13 and 16hp.
BLT Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 The 15 HP was a 32CID engine that had not grown up yet. The speed might have been held down a tad to keep it at 15 HP
