blackfarms1 0 Posted September 1, 2007 Probably a stupid question but here goes. Went and picked up sunstar today (ebay purchase)after getting it home I see that the tires rub the spindles and look like they have for some time. Since it did not come with a book I will get the numbers and download it in the morning. Was just curious as to what size goes on the front it currently has 16x7.50-8 nhs is this correct if so could I have bearings out etc? What are your experiences with these tractor and what would be good to check over before I use it for a little while? As always thanks in advance. Nubian 3 Posted September 2, 2007 The correct size is 16X6.5-8. GREAT tractor, I always change fluids and filters, and grease all the zerks when i first get a used machine.Check the clutch belts and if there is a slight grinding noise on startup, check to see if it's gapped properly usually between .016 and .020. Also check and clean engine cooling fins. You will absolutely love this heavy duty tractor and it's many features.
blackfarms1 0 Posted September 2, 2007 Thanks, put new front rubber today everything looks good. Seems like they should be bigger for a better ride though.
comet66 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Don't forget to grease the front u-joint on the drive shaft. It is inside the cooling plenum and very often is ignored. Nice tractors, I love mine!
