GregB
I have a 16hp Briggs in the Homelite T16S I bought. Problem is I can't get the governor to work right. Either it is always at idle or full RPM (not for long don't want to blow it up!!!). The adjustment procedure in the briggs manual is not to clear to me. I know on the Kohler twins you rotate the shaft one direction and then the lever the other to set the governor. Any tricks like this for the Briggs. Or do I have to tear it down and replace the weights/gear? Any thoughts? Thanks GregB
bigdog46
I believe that has a 2 pc flo-jet carb. The main fuel jet screws up from the bottom half and goes into a hole in the top half. If the jet is not seated into the hole in the top half, you will have the problem that you describe. I know this from first hand experience.
