mwells 8 Posted September 5, 2007 Was it ever factor to drive the snowblowers for a 700 or 900 series off the center PTO?? I know that the front cone clutch was factory, but I have seen them driven off the Center PTO clutch as well. Also, how hard is it to put and electric clutch on the front off a 700/900? Has anyone ever attempted this before??? Seems like that might be more practical scince the front cone cluch is harder to come by, and they are expensive to fix scince most of the peices are not avalible for it anymore. IronPony 3 Posted September 5, 2007 I am a victim of CRS but here goes - Someone on the site sells a front hitch that allows for the running of a blower off the center PTO. I bought one from him and still can't remember who it was:( Dan aka IronPony
2burning 1 Posted September 5, 2007 I think it was factory to drive the snowblower off of the center PTO for 900 series (except the first year or so). All you need is the proper one idler hitch and long belt. A 700 can be made to drive off of the center PTO but it is not factory, you will need the 900 hitch and a slightly shorter belt and modify at least one idler pulley on the PTO. If you put an elecric clutch on a 700, make sure you have an alternator that can handle the load (ie, not the trickle charge non regulated AC light circuit alternator on some engines of that vintage)
