wilm169 1 Posted September 13, 2007 Had the center spindle go out on the 720 deck, went and got all the little parts and the big one, a total of almost 200.00:O for one spindle. OK fine put all together, looks good, runs good, bummer the grease zirk is not taped,:O take it apart and tap it and clean the grease holes out, old zirk will not fit, bummer:( OK find one that will ready to mount and bolt blades on,:(Bummer holes drilled wrong blade will not bolt on, 1/8th to wide:OOK file the blades a little to fit now it all fits like it should. SIMPLICITY DON'T CARE you bought it.
UCD 14 Posted September 13, 2007 If they were wrong/defective my Simplicity dealer would have replaced them. It all boils down to what kind of dealer you have.
skunkhome 0 Posted September 13, 2007 I would be a bit concerned that the whole thing would be out of balance... Are the holes equidistant from the center of the arbor shaft?
JimS 1 Posted September 13, 2007 I have noticed on mine that the blade hole and spindle hole spacings are off a little.
andrewk 0 Posted September 14, 2007 The spindle was probably machined for a press in grease fitting, I have noticed that happens sometimes. Not sure about the spacing of the blade bolts, but I probably would have returned it!
wilm169 1 Posted September 14, 2007 Yes the zirk was changed for the press in type, as older farm boy I know they will not stay in. For the bolt spacing and taking it back it was the only one in this area to be had.:(
