dnahwols 0 Posted September 20, 2007 Got tired of getting 312 out to move car trailer around because of weights on 410(still looking for wheel weights). Fired up the forge and came up with this. j

IronPony 3 Posted September 20, 2007 How much tongue weight will that hold?
wantedinct 0 Posted September 20, 2007 Nice work, fired up the forge ? How about some pics.
dnahwols 0 Posted September 20, 2007 Didn't get a chance to try it yet, 1" bar, tempered it after I drilled holes, may have to add a gusset? Small forge, belive they call them rivet forges. kind of nice doesn't take much room. More work than a torch, But a lot more fun. j
ka9bxg 3 Posted September 20, 2007 Be careful with that much length sticking out the back.It can cause some bad wheelies. I have one that was made out of a old tiller frame but it will lift the front wheels with to much weight.
DMedal 1 Posted September 21, 2007 Nice work! How did you do the tempering? And yeah, this is a rollback menace as ka9bxg said. It's well above the axle. Kinda looks like its own wheelie bar however, but I still wouldn't want to be on the tractor if the trailer got hung up and it flips back far enough to dig that hitch into the ground. Even if it won't roll back on top of you it's going to be a rough ride.
dnahwols 0 Posted September 21, 2007 Trailers run on flat ground and empty, just use to get it out and put away. j
