JimF 0 Posted October 14, 2007 Anyone have any info on the electric lift option that was available back in 1980-'83 for my AC 914? Are they available anywhere? Does the electric motor merely power a hydraulic pump/system, or does it lift mechanically? Would it be difficult to install a unit? Is the motor subject to early burnout if used for snow plowing? (Seems like a lot of use/abuse to the motor if plowing.) Just gathering info-- maybe I really don't want an electric lift! It may be more trouble than it is worth, eh? --Jim
msiebern 0 Posted October 14, 2007 You can find them on e-bay quite often. They are actually a linear actuator, no hydraulics involved. They are quite easy to install and cost less than hydraulics in most cases. Many prefer the hydraulics for the power, but the electric is still nice over the armstrong method. joshuaareed 0 Posted October 14, 2007 Actually I have one on my A/C 314D and it works very well. I use it to lift my snowplow, with no troubles. Mine is the original from 1971.
