tillerman 0 Posted October 17, 2007 Under the steering wheel at the top of the steering pedestal the steering is a little sloppy meaning it has some up and down movement and the hole that the shaft is in is a little too big for the shaft probably 1/8". What can be done to tighten this up? ..Richard
Ketchamized 2 Posted October 17, 2007 Richard, You can install bushing in the steering hole where the shaft rests in. On edit: I misread your post. I originally thought you were referring to the other end, when you were actually referring to the top end. My apologies. A new bushing is what you would need for sure, and they are definitely still available new from Simplicity. (I bought one myself 4 months ago)
Dark 0 Posted October 17, 2007 pvc pipe can fill that gap also just slide a short pipe over the steering rod a little scuff sanding and paint very few would see the differance
