I don't know why you're asking, but I think the Simp 7016 had a B&S engine and was the same tractor as the AC 716 otherwise.

I was in on a local discussion about this, and I think that we found that early on (with the four round headlight hood) you could indeed get the 716 with the Briggs. But this option was only for the 16. I would like to see someone else confirm or deny this to be sure. The reason we had the discussion on this subject was that ocassionally we would find a 716 with a Briggs in it. Sam

Yes, we sold 2 716s with B/S engines fresh out of the crate Bill

Yes, my cousin has one. And it is a later 70's with the square headlights in the grill. I do not know the exact year but I do know that it is the original engine. It has the B&S with the ring gear starter. Mike.
