WMiller 0 Posted October 21, 2007 Recently purchased a t-16s for $50, runs good but some parts missing missing or need replaced. specifically it needs a new muffler that doesn't seem to exist anymore, and there are 2 bars or something missing from the mower deck in the rear for the height adjustment. can't find a decent picture of it to see what goes there. Any help would be appreciated.
RayS 79 Posted October 21, 2007 Is your homelite built by Allis or Simplicity? If built buy Simplicity it should have a 16hp Briggs in it and the muffler is still available. the old part number 170456 has been replaced by part number 1685505SM. The cost is $91.13 on Jacks website. Do you have a Mfg. No. of the mower? http://www.jackssmallengines.com/searchdb.cfm
wilm169 1 Posted October 21, 2007 Ray it should be the same as the 300-400s, I can get a pic tomarrow, or find the parts book fo him. Parts will not open in the model search.:( 1600267 1600042

RayS 79 Posted October 22, 2007 Here is what it should look like and has a briggs from the factory. The muffler is different than I listed above because it appears to have exited the front of the grille and more than likely is not available since it is a Allis built machine and not built by Simplicity. http://simpletractors.com/homelite/t-16s.htm Go to the link below and type in 1600337 in the box. Then you will be able to view a manual of your tractor. http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/techpubsearch.php
WMiller 0 Posted October 22, 2007 mower deck discharges on the right side, and it is the allis model.
goatfarmer 817 Posted October 22, 2007 Very unusual machine, being the Allis model. Might be a bit of a bear to find original parts;).
PhanDad 3,456 Posted October 22, 2007 Use mfg #1600280 at the following link to get a parts list for the mower deck: http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/techpubsearch.php As for the muffler, used is the only choice you have. Keep an eye on eBay, this site's classifieds, and post a "parts wanted" ad in the site's classifieds.
rsachs 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Hope these help It is missing the pulley covers, but I think it is complete otherwise. Let me know if you need close ups of specific parts. I snapped these in a hurry and it shows. Had always planned to put this under my AC312, but never did. PM me if you are interested and can get it from Kansas City. WMiller 0 Posted October 25, 2007 thanks for the deck pics, from looking at them it looks like all i need is the rollers and bar in the back, if anyone has those let me know. Thanks
RayS 79 Posted October 26, 2007 You can get the rollers through a Simplicity dealer still. Simplicity still makes a roller shaft assembly for this style deck. Not sure which deck you have. The part number for the roller shaft on a 42" deck 1607614 is $45.00 and for the 48" deck part number is 1607607 and is $60.00. I got the parts number from a 300 series allis parts manual and checked the prices on jacks website.
