12.5 Briggs twin

I bought a tractor with this 12.5 twin last nite, I was told blown valve seat. I haven't picked it up yet, I was going to throw a 12.5 single in it and give it to my brother in law. I got to thinking about it and thought I read here once that seats can be peened back in. Any advice, thanks, Mike

Mike you are correct. You will have to take off the head first to see if there is any damage to the seat. Sometimes the seat will center in the bore when the engine is running. It is in the Briggs repair manual.
