Fuel Question

Mike

Recommended Posts

Will any motor draw fuel from a non gravity fuel tank? A tractor I am going to switch motors on has the fuel tank under the seat, the other motor comes from a gravity feed motor where the fuel tank is below the steering column, but above the motor. Thanks as always guys, Mike.

You can set a gravity feed carb up on a fuel pump without changing the needle valve if you plumb it like in the picture below. The line that returns the fuel to the tank should be routed to a similar height as the original gravity feed tank if possible. If not, at least go up several inches above the carb. The only pressure in the system will be the pressure that it takes to return the excess fuel back to the tank. The height of that return line controls the pressure in the system.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
