got some of my tractors out for a saturday wood cutting. called in my drivers and we got alot of wood cut and split. had a pot of chile with franks and brats cooked over the open fire for lunch. hopefully going to have another work play day with more people. i had 3 more tractors ready and no more drivers. there is one thing i regret doing. that is hooking up a trailer to the landlord. there was a few slippery hilly spots that we really had to work to get in to. i think my old simplicity with the duals would have had no promblem. i left it in the yard with the disc on because i plan on discing more leaves in the garden later that day. I would have loved to have been there! I love cutting wood, been working for a few years on clearing the hillside behind the house. BTW In the saw lineup what number is the Stihl? Looks like the MS290 I had.

Love the pics of the tractors in the woods! Brought back memories from way back when. My best friend lived a 1/2 mile down the road and had a wheel horse, I had a 725 and we both had trailers that we would load up with our camping gear and set off through the woods for our camping adventures. We cleared trails very similar to yours that were just wide enough to get the tractors and trailer through. What adventures we had! Thanks for bringing back some fond memories! Couldn't find a picture of both of our tractors, will have to check at the homestead on thanksgiving, but the picture in my signature line is of his Wheel Horse with him and myself on the trailer, and another friend on the tractor. That would be me in the middle. :D

I traded the 290 off on an Echo CS440. One more hp and I believe 4lbs less, if I remember right. Good saw, but.... then last week at the same sale I bought the model V walker at I bought a Stihl 028 wood boss for $60. Now THAT is a saw!8D I had cut quite a bit with the 290 and it served me well.

great pictures work always goes faster and is more fun with friends . But i think your friends had more fun riding the tractor's then then actual spliting the wood part .sm01
