Terry_Hart Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 My AC 716H started smoking pretty bad yesterday. I have been pulling the sweeper picking up leaves. I found the air filter was choked so I replaced it and ran it again today to finish the leaves. Still smoking, more when you first start it. It gets a little better after it has run for awhile. It is a Kohler K341 with unknown number of hours on it. Think it's time to think about a repower? Should I be looking for another K341 or a conversion? Thanks
RayS Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Personally I would rebuild the motor if it is with in spec. to do so. You could also repower with a Briggs cast iron single cylinder. you can also put the briggs vanguard and kohler commands in them.
Chris727 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Those K341's are a pretty desirable engnie. I too would rebuild if possible.
