4xbill 2 Posted November 19, 2007 I know the differences between grades 2, 5 & 8 blots. Where do Stainless Steel bolts lie? Are they comparable to 2,5 or 8? Stronger or just rust resistant? thanks
BLT 715 Posted November 20, 2007 Stainless steel contains no carbon and has no clamping strength. Thay are a soft bolt but are stubborn to give a clean shear. Thats why you dont see them in flywheel bolts or head bolts.
