being a nice original tractor with decent paint, i want to try and clean up the white paint on the dash area. the rest of the tractor is'nt too bad. there is only one spot on the hood that has a bad scrape mark. even has nice decals. what would you guys recommend to use on the rusty stained dash without having to repaint. After trying rubbing compound, various cleaners/polishers I had laying around, I just brushed on some paint. Without a major dis-assembly, the dash area is tough to do much with. Good luck, and nice tractor. Tacey

To protect the decals from paint, mask off using painters tape. Cut around the decal with a new blade in a utility knife. Some delicate decals might need the "delicate" painters tape.

As Kenny said, looks like a re-paint. I repainted a dash on the tractor- not too bad, just a lot of tape & paper. As for the hood don't do what I did: I just painted the top because I was running low on paint. Five years later, I'm seeing rust coming thru the paint from the underside of the hoodC! Won't make that mistake again.
