9020 brakes

My brakes are non existent and although I have not begun to dismantle the wheels to more properly assess the problem, (the heavy equipment operators around here all say "you don't need brakes-just drop the blade" my question is....are parts still available, and are they at reasonable $$$? No suppliers in this part of Canada and only one dealer who has never heard of a Powermax also..with no working emergency lock either, what is likely to have broken or gone wrong?
