ikipp 0 Posted December 1, 2007 Anyone know if the snowblower spoat for a sunstar can be made to work with an electric motor. Has anyone tried to do it. Did simplicity make a electric spoat kit for the snowblower on a sunstar.
AC_TOY_BOY 8 Posted December 1, 2007 Yes Simplicity had a kit for the electric spout rotation. I did not get one with my Deutz Allis 1920 and blower but I do have an electric rotator on my two stage blower for my Agco 2025. It works GREAT. I highly recommend one. These blowers work fantastic in the winter, I can almost blow the snow across to my neighbors. Happy snow blowing.
RedbarnRick 3 Posted December 1, 2007 Take a look at the conversiion in tech tips geared electric rotator chute, the parts are cheap and the motors are on ebay all the time. it works great, only problem is you run the battery down playing with it in the garage. HubbardRA 19 Posted December 1, 2007 Amen, Rick. When I built the motorized cable type spout rotater for my blower, the first thing I did was play with it till I ran down the battery. Surprising what an electric window motor draws out of a battery. I didn't say anything about the battery because I figured I was kinda dumb to do that. Now I don't feel so bad, even though I have done it both times I have installed the blower in the past two years. Gotta check it out good before having it break in the snow, "right?" :D
mwells 8 Posted December 2, 2007 As far as I know the motor, wiring harnes and switch is still avalible from simplicity, as for the brackets I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be suprised if they were. Kinda pricey, but theres no modifications.
