ariens in SW Ohio - any good?

Don't know what you folks think about Ariens machines. But I know the Kohler 16 is a good engine and it sounds like this tractor has good parts at least. If I had time or inclination, I might go after it. Anyway, someone go get it if it's good! http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/grd/508402577.html

Price is too high for something that isn't currently running. The engines from the ariens have the right pan to fit in an Allis or Simplicity, but if it has sat for 3 years it could have stuck rings or other hidden problems.

The 3 point hight and rear pto would fetch almost $300 by themselves. Was watching a 3 point on E-bay awhile back and it went over $250. My budget ended at $150 :(! They are a heavy tractor. The main thing I would look at would be the condition of the hydro and hydraulic lift. In reality, even in running condition, a K341 that old I would count on a rebuild, regardless of what the buyer says. This tractor has some very sought after pieces on it. It would be like finding a 2210 non running with hydraulic lift and maybe a rear tiller pto drive complete. Wouldn't those drive the price higher than a straight non runner? Again, beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder.

...if it indeed has a 3 point hitch. Some people think a 3 point is a drawbar with 3 holes in it....8)

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
