Chris727 1,860 Posted December 17, 2007 I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how they install and remove the snap rings such as those used on the cone clutch and the BGB input shafts, these things can be a pain, they are not the kind with the little holes to use a snap ring pliers on. Thank You! Chris
RayS 79 Posted December 18, 2007 I use a screwdriver.
wilm169 1 Posted December 18, 2007 In the cone clutch it is just a thin wire type, push the body in against the spring and zip it out.
MPH 12 Posted December 18, 2007 Fighting with these old snap rings made me buy a pair of pliers with changeable tips. Came with a couple different flat/blade tips that work pretty good. IMO, worth the money spent at NAPA.
DeltaBravo 0 Posted December 18, 2007 What MPH is talking about is money well spent. I've found them for around $3-$5, IIRC. Another handy item, at least for car sensors, is a set of torx allen wrenches. Both of these are sometimes hard to find, then you see them everywhere!
