BDSchmidt 0 Posted December 18, 2007 It may be that none of you will ever have this problem, but I did and member Al Eden helped me solve it. I have a total of 8 various Sovereign configurations...( did someone here say a tractor for every implement?)and some of them are stored in the garage of a house I own next door to my main residence. I bought this house for many reasons but 1 of them was to have a care taker residence and another was to have the three car stand alone garage. I have 5 of my Sovereigns in this garage. One of them has a front end loader and I prefer that it not be used unless I am the one using it or at least around to supervise..( I get testy about people using my tools or tractors with out my knowledge). I have provided a Sovereign tractor for the caretaker for mowing, lawn sweeping, pulling a cart etc....basic stuff. When I found my front end loader tractor being used to tackle some boulders it was not capable of picking up, I needed to find a way to make sure it couldn't be used without my knowledge in the future. Let me first say that simply asking that my other tractors not be used, didn't work as the offense was repeated a couple of times. The caretaker is a relative and lets just say there are some disability/dependency issues. Because all these garden tractors use the same generic key I wanted to change the switch to a key like a car...something that was unique. I discussed this with Al and he made up a couple replacement switches with wiring harnesses already attached that utilize regular cut keys like a car and they work great! All I had to do was unplug, remove and replace the original switch and plug the connector back in to the harness he configured. Sorry for the long story but if anyone needs to replace a switch with a unique vs generic key, Al can fix you up! Happy Holidays ALL! Brian Brian

Nubian 3 Posted December 18, 2007 Hey Al can you do anything with the D/A Ultima switch which also controls the headlights?
callwill 1 Posted December 18, 2007 wouldn't a simple hidden kill switch have done the trick?
PGL 416 Posted December 18, 2007 The hidden switch would work for strangers, but an on-site relative would likely discover/see where it is after a while.
Al 6 Posted December 18, 2007 Hi, Thanks for the kind words, Brian. Re: the 1920, what do you want to fix on the 1920? Happy Holidays to All. Al Eden
BDSchmidt 0 Posted December 19, 2007 Al, Happy Holidays to you! I think you might have me mixed up with someone else...I don't have a 1920. Brian
Al 6 Posted December 19, 2007 Hi, Happy Holidays to all. I was responding to Nubian's question above. Al Eden
Donzo 1 Posted December 20, 2007 I know what you mean about not wanting people to use your tractors. It's okay when I break something, but it would kill me if someone else did.
Nubian 3 Posted December 20, 2007 Hi Al! I just wanted a car like ignition switch for my D/A Ultima, is that possible since the light switch is incorporated in itquote:Originally posted by Al Hi, Happy Holidays to all.
