cojo92 1 Posted December 22, 2007 Hey everyone, I just picked up a ??1974?? 3416h Soveriegn yesterday and i am going to restore it in the spring...but i dont know what colors i need. i want to keep the colors the same or close to the original. So...can anyone tell me the colors they used originally and what is the closet match. Im trying to get all the colors by dupli-color, but really anything is fine. THANKS ALL!!! Mike PS...Found this orangey color i think is close to simplicity, but i dont know if it is the same...another club member said he uesd this color and that it was closest to the original simplicity color. ehertzfeld 1 Posted December 22, 2007 Yes, several members have used Chevy orange with very nice results. I personally use Allis Chalmers orange.
MikeES 448 Posted December 22, 2007 The 1974 Sovereign hood and wheels were a light grey instead of the cream white like the later tractos. Most people refinish with the cream color. The 1974 Baron was cream and orange. I do not know what grey may match, I have always touched up using Plasti-kote "off white" and Chevy engine orange. Whole tractor repaint I use Simplicity paint.
