D-17_Dave 12 Posted December 23, 2007 The solenoid you see is a fuel shut off solenoid. It must be wired to a 12 volt power supply when you want the engine to run or you won't have any fuel going to your main jet. Since most Briggs engine use a kill circuit to operate the ignition you'll need a switch capable of the kill circuit as well as an ignition circuit that will supply the solenoid constant voltage.
