B-16_IC 1,029 Posted December 30, 2007 Been going through withdrawals lately with no good auctions going on, darn holidays anyway!:o) Went to one Saturday to look at the "misc. lawn and garden" and found myself just what I needed, another project! I have been drooling over the pics of other members' chippers and decided I needed my version. It will no doubt take some fab work, but the price was right! It is a Super Tomahawk built by the Troy-Built people. The PO had taken the engine off for his logsplitter because as he said, he needed the splitter more. I have been keeping the eyes and ears peeled for a chipper with a blown or missing engine and here it is, and for only $25!:D I dissasembled the chutes and wheels off so I could get it in the trunk of the old Dodge better.sm00 It looks as though the chipper hasn't seen much action. I had also noticed in the corner of the garage some scrap iron, and in a bucket of small scrap pipe was this little jewel. After the sale the auctioneer approached a scrap dealer aquaintance if he wanted the stuff, he said yes and started loading. I went over picked it up and asked how much, he said take it!:D:D It looks NOS to me, it is Simplicity right? It sure fits the lift on my old foot dragger nice!:D
Chris727 1,849 Posted December 30, 2007 A chipper is a good attachment to have, with some recent ice storms bringing down tree branches I've learned that I could use to have one. Good score on the lift rod, looks like its the upper lift rod for attachments like the 10" plow.
