Warmer weather = tractor time = thank you

Well the temperature around here got up in the lower 40s today so I got some good tractor time in. I did some final disassembly of a 3310v chassis, I got a 10 hp briggs engine running for my brother in law, and I finally got around to my Homelite T-10. I don't know why but thought the engine had a broken connecting rod. I took a good look at it and it did have compression so good news, no bad connecting rod. I checked for spark and cleaned the points. I checked the oil level then took the carb off for a quick clean up. I added some fuel and it fired right up! Now for the "thanks" part. The trans was locked up. Looking at the shift handle I noticed it was bent forward from someone trying to force it in gear. I checked the archives and found a couple topics about stuck transmissions and figured I would give the screwdriver trick a shot. Sure enough the fork was shifted over into first gear not allowing the shifter ball to slide in which is why the handle bent. So I now end this topic with a "thank you!" to the club because I now have another running and "driving" tractor. Well worth the $10!!! THANKS! ,Tom

Hard to imagine that a scant six months ago we were wondering thru a warehouse of wonders, huh? Well in two months it will be time to start things going again. My big job will be the 3112H.
