Roy Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 The RH hub on my 3212V is loose. Per Jack's Small Engines the hub has one bushing and one bearing. The Simplicity part numbers are 105058 (bushing) and 153068 (bearing). Both are available. Anyone know for sure if there is a bushing and a bearing? Anyone have the universal/standard bearing numbers? Per Jack's the nylon bearing and plugs for the limited slip are NLA. These are Simplicity part numbers 152041 (bearing) and 152042 (plug, 2 required). Haven't checked with a Simplicity dealer yet but assuming they are truly NLA what is being used as replacements besides used parts? Thanks,
MPH Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 They are bushings Roy, one on each side of the nylon bushing for the limited slip, two different lengths. Not sure what to replace that with, hope you learn as I chewed one up last summer with the plow in hard dry dirt.
HubbardRA Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 For you guys with the nylon bushing type limited slip diffs, I would recommend finding a later model traction control diff, axle, and hub. If you get all three, it is a direct replacement for the same parts of the old style, but the axle and hub definitely have to be replaced together. You can replace just the diff, but I would recommend the newer hub with the longer bearings and the axle to match it. I have one from a 716H in my 61 Wards and it has been in there for 15 years.
HubbardRA Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Roy, Now that I have sent you a good right hub and a custom made left hub that needs a little work on the lathe and some welding to complete it, I want to see some pictures of this tractor going together.:D
Roy Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 Thanks Marty. Patience Rod, patience. I'm working on it.
