voltage regulator bushing

What it the reason for the rubber mounts with the brass bushing for on a voltage regulator? I don't think they are voltage isolators because the bolts ground the regulator anyway. The ones on the regulator on my project tractor are shot and am wondering if I can eliminate them or try to find new ones. If they are just for vibration I can come up with an alternative.

Those are anti-vibration mounts.

If this is the same as what I had, I used some fuel hose.
